As the world of media rich Social Networks grows, niche networks seem to be popping up. Some music festivals have been creating their own social networks such as High Sierra Music Festival, Bonnaroo, and one of my all time favorite festivals, Earthdance. These differ from the old fashioned form of online forums such as Burning Man’s E-Playa because they allow users to create their own identities, profiles, photos, videos and become “friends” with other users of the network. They are mini Facebooks or MySpace sites for interest-specific groups.
