The Hydro Pacific Web Campaign

In an effort to speak to the motivating influences of Hydro Pacific’s demographic, we needed to create an ad that was creative and edgy enough to draw new visitors to the web store. Many of today’s indoor gardner magazines are urban, grungy and punchy with a twist of organic hippie. With that in mind we designed this campaign design.

Plant It Water… spotted!

I recently found my Plant It Water bottle product design in my local Community Market health food store the other day. What a cool surprise! If you see this on the shelf, try it out! It’s great water and every bottle you buy plants a tree. Plus, it’s made from recycled materials and is 100% recyclable. No more nasty plastic water bottles overflowing our landfills! Nomads World Gallery goes live!

Today Zack Darling Creative Associates launched Nomads World Gallery . Nomad’s World is a beautiful import store and gallery based in downtown Ukiah, California. The owners, Rita & Chance, are two charismatic globetrotters with impeccable taste in art, design, color and craftwork. Their beautiful store clearly shows their quality taste, and their website needed to as well.
The challenge with this project was to present an enormous amount of visual imagery within a relatively small website. We accomplished this through dynamic interactive galleries that exist throughout the site. Also, we needed to help them present their message of global-mindedness and “true fair-trade” with a unified voice. We interviewed them and created site copy based on the information and our own experience with their store. The result: a colorful and well expressed website that offers a true journey through their gallery, their lives and the world.

The Sacred Centers Caduceus Chakra Graphic

One of my lifelong friends and self-adopted mother figures, Anodea Judith, is one of the world’s foremost experts on the chakra system. She is the founder of Sacred Centers and shares her transformational messages though her books, videos and workshops.
Recently she hired me to work with her on a unique image of a caduceus that is inter-related to the chakras, the human body and the planet. Here is the final graphic as well as many of the variations we created along the way.

HydroPacific.com Launches January 11th 2010!

Zack Darling Creative Associates blasts off with a 2000+ product e-commerce web store.
We are happy to announce that on January 11th, 2010, we will be launching our latest e-commerce website. Hydro Pacific is one of Northern California’s larges hydroponics and organic gardening retailers. They came to us 5 months ago to help them bring their company to the field of e-commerce sales with strength and style. We managed every aspect of this crucial transition including design, strategy, inventory management, product photography, marketing, database building, accounting & taxes, shipping department, you name it.

I just finished this design tonight… errr… this morning. It was a nice challenge to try to make a warehouse blowout sale look actually cool and interesting. There was a lot of info to cram into a small space, but I like the look. Wish I had more time to finesse it, but other deadlines call…

My wife and I love going to the 7th St. Bikram Yoga studio in Santa Rosa. I’m working with them to re-brand their current look. We’ll be doing new cards, brochures and a whole line of apparel. Here is the first round graphics I created.

Emerald Cup Poster

Northern California definitely has it’s own idea of what it means to “go green.” This was a fun project to design as I was able to integrate ganja imagery into a stoic, competitive, championship trophy design. It’s not often you’re asked to surround your designs with pot leaves and I enjoyed the opportunity… mon.
The Emerald Cup is a benefit event in the northern hills of Mendocino County where they celebrate the green life.
